Sauvignon Blanc is one of those varieties that just loves our property. It always seems to do well no matter what the vintage brings, warm or cool, rain or lots of sunshine. It does vary in its aromatic and flavor profile to a degree but it is always lovely in how it expresses the vintage.
Aroma: Nectarines, apricots and Ruby Red grapefruit are first to jump out of the glass. This is followed by some grassy notes complimented with aromas of Meyer Lemon and just a hint of fresh ginger.
Taste: The palate offers a crisp racy mouthfeel with an acidity that compliments the fruit flavors perfectly. The citrus is certainly more present on the palate than it was in the aromatics with the stone fruits coming in for an appearance before giving way to the Meyer Lemon finish.
Food Pairing: Shellfish, most definitely shellfish. Oysters on the half shell with a shallot remoulade or clam steamers with white wine herb butter and crusty baguette would be perfect partners for this wine.
